Reflective Narrative
Both Samurai Spirit (JAPN 212) and Japanese Literature(JAPN 402) helped to further my knowledge and understanding about both attitudes and philosophies in Japan albeit through different avenues. Samurai Spirit was my first formal introduction into learning about Japanese historya and by looking through each time period through writings and research, we learned about the evolution of politics, art, religion etc. in Japan, as well as analyzed them side by side with common stereotypes and percpections about said topics. My Samurai Spirit final essay shows a small piece of the understanding about samurai history and culture that I gained through the entirety of the course. |
