Reflective Narrative
In this course we defined and learned about the many different aspects of Japanese Visual culture including commercials, signs, anime, movies, sweets, origami, religion, kimono, and more. This was accomplished through films, in class discussions or projects, and most importantly presentations. For our final we were assigned to make an interactive essay about a specific aspect of Japanese visual culture that included visual elements and to present it to the class. These discussions and presentations helped to better understand the subject matters on a deeper level as well as how to communicate them to others. For my final essay I chose traditional kimono textile techniques and it can be found here. |
